
Billy Harrison has been constructing music for over 10 years. Growing up, he took drum lessons and taught himself the piano, guitar, and bass. Although he has primarily played the drums, he now is a music director for the Abundant Life Christian Center's music department. In the past, Billy has taught at Music and Arts in Clay, with Catholic Charities, and with the Boys and Girls Club at after school programs in the Syracuse City School District. Currently, besides teaching at Subcat, Billy also produces and mixes. Billy also works with local artists such as Rufus Morris, writing and performing music all around the Northeast.

Bill Tillman
Bill Tillman has been playing bass since 1974, and teaching for fifteen years . Starting on drums when he was six he switched to bass when he was fourteen years old. He played bass in local bands in South Florida since 1977, including Jimmy Stowe And The Stowaway's, with whom he backed up music legend Jimmy Buffett.As the electric bass teacher at Sam Ashe Music he developed a teaching style designed to keep to keep lessons fun and interesting, including songs students wanted to learn by their favorite bands. Since moving to the Syracuse area in 2006 Bill has continued teaching private bass lessonsand also has been active in composing and recording music. Sight reading, ear training, and various picking techniques are covered in Bill's lessons with an approach that is conformed to each students level andinterest, with the goal of making them a knowledgeable, innovative and versatile bass player.

Max is a multi-instrumentalist, focusing on electric bass and acoustic and electric guitars in most genres of music. With over 15 years of music education, a bachelors degree in jazz studies, and 10+ years of "on the gig" experience, Max brings a flavor of spontaneity and improvisation into the lesson room. Combined with a gentle discipline, this approach can help the aspiring musician or the seasoned veteran reach that next level of musicality, and enjoy it!

Instructor Peter LaVine has been teaching guitar in the Dewitt community for 8 years. Throughout that time, he has had the privilege of teaching all styles of guitar to both youth and adult students. Additionally, his passion for teaching has led him to pursue various other avenues of instruction. He has been a guest lecturer and performer at the Syracuse Guitar League and has also had the honor of having been a contributor to the Guitar Foundation of America’s quarterly publication Soundboard. This spring, he will be teaching at Cazenovia College through their Office of Extended Learning.
